This board is here to help with this. Pooling income resources (intelligently and safely) can keep one off the streets in the first place. Shared housing is a strong option when one can get good roommates.
Mother-in-law apartments.
Room for rent in a home.

Upgrade income:
Rent out a room.
Door Dash, Grub Hub, Uber, Uber Eats
Offer Air BNB- room, tent, parking spot for pay https://www.airbnb.com/help/article/3113

Some states have free attorneys to help with homelessness prevention. They could help with prevention or at least delaying a move to the streets. Call 211 or your local attorney bar association.

Move to a location you can afford. They exist.

It may be less expensive to make payments on a property than on an apartment. For real.

"If your family is inching apart, don’t let it! Be the one to hold it together. If your family is close, become closer. There is always room for more love and bonding. You should be able to rely on your family and they should be able to rely on you, too. Take every opportunity to grow closer to one another and never let that love slip."

FYI: A “prepper” is someone who “prepares” for the future. Specifically for the collapse of our current society. So they can live safely, with food, through bad times to better times.
